UNICEF Goodwill ambassadors

Sometimes the voices of children aren’t heard as loudly as they should be.

To help children raise their voices and advocate for their rights, UNICEF is fortunate to have the assistance of celebrities, both in Canada and around the world. UNICEF has been benefiting from the volunteer support of well-known personalities almost since its inception, beginning with Danny Kaye who began donating his time and status in 1953 to help UNICEF efforts worldwide, making the organization the first to harness the power of celebrity to reach millions of ordinary people and bring the world home to them.

Since then, countless celebrated actors, journalists, musicians, artists and sports figures have donated their time and talents to advocate for children. UNICEF’s International Goodwill Ambassadors include Danny Glover, Susan Sarandon, Sir Roger Moore, David Beckham, Lord Richard Attenborough and Tetsuko Kuroyanagi.

In Canada, UNICEF is fortunate to have the support of some of this country’s well-known personalities in its efforts on behalf of children worldwide. Our UNICEF National Ambassadors include ballerina Veronica Tennant, journalist Kate Wheeler, actress Catherine Brunet, Olympic cross-country skier Beckie Scott and musician Corneille.
