This Global Citizenship Calendar highlights the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. The calendar brings to life the values of global citizenship by focusing on one day in each month as designated by the United Nations.
Note: Teachers should exercise discretion if providing copies of this calendar directly to students, and make the decision based on the age-appropriateness of the calendar date topic.

November: These classroom friendly activities celebrate Universal Children's Day, also known as National Child Day in Canada.
December: These classroom friendly activities celebrate Human Rights Day on December 10.
January: These classroom friendly activities provide age appropriate materials for Holocaust Remembrance Day on January 27th.
February – these classroom friendly activities celebrate International Mother Language Day on February 21st.
March – these classroom friendly activities celebrate World Water Day on March 22nd.
April – These classroom friendly activities celebrate International Mother Earth Day on 21st April.
May - These classroom friendly activities celebrate International Day of Families on 15th May.
June - These classroom friendly activities provide age-appropriate activities for World Refugee Day on 20th June.
July – These classroom friendly activities celebrate World Population Day on 11th July.
August - These classroom friendly activities celebrate International Day of the World’s Indigenous People on 9th August.
September – These classroom friendly activities celebrate International Literacy Day on 8th September and International Day of Peace on 21st September.
October - These classroom friendly activities celebrate International Day for the Eradication of Poverty on October 17th.
